Who else would we possibly want to enjoy Halloween other than our four-legged friends?
For this reason I’d like to share this recipe for dog biscuits with you all, ideal for Autumn and Halloween (if you want to try them out too, they’re edible and healthy for humans too!)
½ cup pumpkin pulp, grated
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons powdered milk (if your dog has a fragile stomach, you can use powdered milk for cats instead)
2 ½ cups flour
Pre-heat the oven to 150ºC before starting.
Mix together the pumpkin pulp and eggs, then incorporate the powdered milk and flour. Add as much water as necessary to make the dough workable, as with a normal biscuit dough. It will be rather dry and brittle, but this is quite normal!
Shape the dough into the desired shapes (bonus points for those who manage Halloween or bone shapes!)
Place the biscuits on greaseproof paper and bake for 15-20mins. Turn over so that the other side becomes crisp too, and leave for a further 15-20mins. Leave them to cool thoroughly before giving them to your pets!
